Ben and Rachel’s Wedding Blog

Don’t worry, we’re still getting married and throwing a fantastic party!   We’ve just re-prioritized what we want and decided although we love these venues, they’re too big and too expensive for what we need.  We’d rather bring you all some fantastic food, party favors, and an all out awesome day than have our wedding in a fancy space.

So… we keep looking.  I’m taking a day or two off planning to destress and then we’ll be right back at it!  We’re meeting with a rabbi tomorrow afternoon to discuss the ceremony and figure out how we can make the day double fun intergrating both of our faiths.

I also found out that there is a new “green buildling” downtown that just opened that has event spaces so I’m looking into that.  It’s not green in color, but green as in sustainable energy LEED certified.  Ben and I are both big on environmentalism and activism so this sounds like it could be a great thing to do.  But can I have my yellow wedding in the green building?  We may have to change up the color scheme.

I got my hair cut today and the hairdresser gave me some ideas about how to do my hair for the big day.  She told me there are lots of little boutique wedding shops in town with fantastic deals on handmade veils, beaded hairpieces, and vintage handbags. Great things to know for when its time to buy accessories!
